ALMADEN FC RECREATION FAQs
- 01
AFC’s recreational program has two main seasons. Our fall season runs August-November. Our Spring season runs March-May. Both seasons consist of 10 weeks of weekday practices, with games on Saturdays. Every player in our recreational program will have one day of practice with our professional coaches. The other practice day, along with games, will be led by our volunteer coaches.
- 02
Practice sessions are led by our professional coaches. The purpose of the training is for player AND coach development. It is highly recommended that volunteer coaches attend these sessions.
- 03
Schedules are typically released one week prior to the start of the program. Our professional coaching sessions are set by AFC and will be fixed. The volunteer coach typically chooses the second practice day based on what works best in their schedule. Games will be on Saturdays at Pioneer HighSchool. For most age groups, the schedule will be fixed.
- 04
The volunteer requirement is 2 hours per season, per family. The volunteer fee will be refunded at the end of the season.
- 05
There is an unlimited amount of buddy requests. Gather your friends and form a team!

Part of the role of our professional coaches is to identity players that we feel could be a match for our competitive program. We typically offer clinics towards the end of the rec season for players identified or interested in our competitive program. Tryouts follow shortly after the end of both seasons.
